Information about a Shock Logger

loggerHave you ever driven by a storage unit that says that it is environmentally controlled? The last time you were at a museum, did you notice a small electronic box close to the glass enclosed artifact?  Did you ever wonder what that little box was doing?

Sometimes there are situations in which such information like temperature, humidity, the intensity of light, pressure, and shock needs to be known.
That little electronic box is called
an impact data logger or a shock logger.
Here is more information on what
shock loggers are and used for.

Why use a shock logger:  When you are dealing with certain materials, it is possible that these materials need to be kept in a certain environmental condition in order to preserve the material while it is being stored or transported.  What if there is a problem that occurs during transport and damage occurred because there was a change in the environment during distribution or transportation? How would you be able to know if something happened?  If you use an impact data logger, also known as a shock logger, then you can be able to monitor the situation and adjust the temperature accordingly or keep a sharp eye and make sure everything is safe.

Where are shock loggers placed:  Shock loggers are designed to be small and kept in a place that is out of the way.  A shock logger can be attached to the item you are transporting itself, or it can be attached to the outside of the container that the item is in.

The durability of the shock loggers:  Because these little data collectors are used in all kinds of situations, they are made to be durable and to withstand any time of environmental conditions no matter how extreme they might be.  Shock loggers are water resistant and are housed in a strong type of casing that will protect it in temperatures as long as -20 degrees below zero and temperatures as high as 150 degrees.

There are some items that need to be kept as a certain temperature and a certain environmental condition in order to ensure its safe transport.  With the help of a shock logger, sensitive items can be kept in their ideal conditions, and thus save money because the sensitive items were stored and transported safely.  Anyone who is in the business of transporting or distribution should look into shock loggers to ensure their items will survive the shipping process.
